Inna Modja is a Malian-French artist, singer, actress, and an active promoter of feminist movements and the protection of climate change. Since 2019, she has been a land ambassador for UNCCD and the fight against desertification in the Sahel. Inna experienced many cruelties as a child that left her with indelible scars on her heart, but through the music she found strength. Today, she communicates her cause and beliefs through her music, including themes such as war, water scarcity, and refugees in Mali. Inna’s strength and humanitarian spirit are embedded in her music and the causes close to her heart.

Twin Mamas,2022

Mothers of the Sea. Her Genesis NFT. Inna was inspired by Rumi’s poetry to create this photo.

“It’s good to leave each day behind, like flowing water, free from sadness. Yesterday is gone, and it’s a tale told. Today new seeds are growing”. Inna set up a dreamy decor, with plants and flowers, vases, and embroidered backgrounds on golden sand, with a blue sky and waves cascading around.

Inna then started to capture the natural grace of these elegant Twin Mamas. And other enchanting people. Traveling all along the Sahel, from Senegal to Ethiopia to meet the communities who are living along the Great Green Wall, Inna saw the beauty, the pain & the hopes of a continent she adores. Africa, on this incredible journey across the Sahara, her camera was the loyal companion, the people were the light.

The Wrestler,2022

“Your hand opens and closes, opens and closes. If it were always a fist or
always stretched open, you would be paralysed. Your deepest presence is
in every small contracting and expanding, the two as beautifully balanced and coordinated as birds’ wings.” — Rumi.

Capturing the natural grace & strength of The Wrestling Champion, was a joyful moment. With kids playing around in the water, the decor that Inna set up came to life.

The Omen of the Sahara,2022

Jessica Santiago, Founder and CEO of ArtRepublic, said, “As the digital art market evolves, photography NFT is leading the way on all major platforms.”

Photography has traveled an extremely difficult journey in the collector’s market. First, it was considered too easy to reproduce and it took more effort to ensure its scarcity in terms of value; second, the combination with machines and technology made it considered to lack subjective creativity and had been rejected from art for a long time. Despite its long development, we will find a smaller and smaller percentage of photographic works, whether in galleries or art fairs. Photography often does not sell for the same high prices and popularity as artworks like paintings and sculptures. When we look at traditional auction houses, such as Sotheby’s and Christie’s, we can hardly find a place for photography in the top sales of the past years, and this is a status quo that we cannot ignore. The emergence of NFT, on the other hand, has rewritten the problem of photography being so easily copied, providing copyright protection for both the artwork and the artist.

Inna is also the philanthropic director of World of Woman, an NFT project whose goal is to create a beautiful, rich, and empowering collection and thriving community. They welcome everyone into the world of NFT, creating a positive environment for everyone from new community members and collectors to emerging artists and NFT enthusiasts. the WoW community believes that when we all come together, we can have a positive impact on the NFT field and the world. This collection of NFT is a first-of-its-kind collection of 10,000 diverse and powerful pieces of women’s art.

At this year’s March 1st World of Woman London Evening Auction in partnership with Christie’s, several works fetched surprisingly high prices. The #5672 piece sold for £567,000, including hammer price, or about $755,000 or 260 ETH, the highest price ever paid for a WoW. The floor price of WoW NFT, the lowest price currently on the market, has now risen to 9.35ETH on Opensea, where they were just 0.07ETH at launch.

Inna Modja is also the CEO of the Code Green NFT project, a non-profit technology organization that ignites a healing revolution for the planet, harnessing the disruptive power of blockchain technology, NFT, and the creative arts to empower communities to find solutions on their terms, fighting for social and climate justice.

Climate change affects us all — but not equally. Amid increasingly brutal climate impacts, women and girls receive a disproportionate share of the brutal harm. Not only are they more likely to die when natural disasters strike, but because they are often poorer, have less access to education, and are often excluded from decision-making processes, they have fewer resources at their disposal to respond. At Code Green, they believe that there is no climate justice without gender justice. The two are inextricably linked, and women are the true vanguard in the fight against climate change, managing the majority of the world’s natural resources.

World of Women x Code Green x WEF & SuperRare

This is most evident in the Sahel region of Africa, where women make up 80 percent of the agricultural workforce but struggle daily with the effects of climate disasters, from persistent drought to food shortages, from mass migration to natural resource-induced conflict. That’s why Code Green is focusing its first NFT fundraising campaign on the Green Great Wall — an emergency initiative to plant 8,000 kilometers of the world’s natural wonders across Africa — to help build the resilience of women across the Sahel region, who are struggling under abrupt changes in global conditions. 70% of the proceeds from the Code Green project will go to the Green Great Wall, with the artist receiving only the remaining 30%.

Artist Inna Modja has dedicated her life to women’s empowerment and environmental activism and has inspired more people, not just women, to take these critical issues seriously. She is not only a simple musician and artist, but she uses her power to influence more people to create a better global environment and true social justice and gender equality.
